Matt Obrey, operations consultant for the new restaurant, said: “It is an honour for our McDonald’s team to serve the community in St Oswald’s and the local area.
“We hope to see loyal fans of McDonald’s coming to enjoy what they know and love, as well as potential new customers who are attracted by our inviting look and feel.
“At McDonald’s, we aim to ensure that all staff have access to a solid learning ladder of opportunities to benefit their career and help improve the skills of our staff which will in turn have a positive impact on our customers.”
All 100 employees will have access to McDonald’s training and development programmes, as well as the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications ranging from adult certificates in Maths and English to a Foundation degree in Managing Business Operations
County councillor Jeremy Hilton (Kingsholm and Wotton) said:"I was delighted to take part in the opening of the new McDonald’s restaurant.
“The restaurant and kitchen are first class and I was impressed with the new technology. This is a great addition to St Oswald’s Retail Park, especially because 100 new jobs have been created employing many young people from the area.
“I’m also impressed with McDonald’s attitude towards protecting the local environment and I was pleased to hear about the three litter picks per day that will be taking place.”
