HYDE 2 FOREST GREEN ROVERS 6

Forest Green put Hyde to the sword for the second time this season to register an emphatic third away win in the Skrill Premier.

Doubles for Eddie Oshodi and James Norwood and further goals by Marcus Kelly and Reece Styche rewarded a swashbuckling display by Ady Pennock's side in Manchester.

The deadlock was broken in the ninth minute and it was as simply crafted as they come, captain Anthony Barry's inswinging corner met with a meaty header by Oshodi that crashed against the underside of the crossbar and was adjudged to have crossed the line.

Styche's bravery played a major part in the second three minutes later, as he was clattered in producing the perfect lay-off for Norwood to race through and deftly notch his 10th goal of the season.

Hyde were all at sea, and it was 3-0 inside 14 minutes when Styche turned provider again with a slide-rule pass and Kelly rounded goalkeeper Ashley Frith for his eighth of the campaign.

Adam Blakeman reduced his side's arrears when he whipped a central free-kick over the wall and beyond the dive of Sam Russell.

But Rovers' three-goal advantage was restored in the 23rd minute when Jamie Turley rose highest to meet a hanging ball in the area and picked out Styche, who sent a brilliant looping header over Frith and into the empty net.

It was the injury-hit striker's first goal this term, a nice moment after his only other start of the season against Grimsby Town had been cut short by floodlight failure.

It was 4-2 five minutes into the second half when Rovers failed to clear a Josh Brizell cross and Danny Carlton drilled a low shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Brizell's swerving attempt had to be beaten away by Russell before the visitors stretched their advantage again on 67 minutes, Oshodi rolling home his second of the afternoon after Al Bangura's shot had cannoned back off the post.

Goal number six arrived three minutes from time when substitute Danny Wright put Norwood in the clear and he slotted home.
