Forest Green duo Jamie Turley and James Norwood will head to the Middle East next month after being named in the latest England C squad.
Paul Fairclough’s side, comprising players aged under 23 and under from outside the Football League, take on Jordan Under-23s in Amman on Tuesday, March 4.
England C are preparing for May’s International Challenge Trophy game with Slovakia, while their hosts are readying themselves for the qualifying stages of the 2016 Olympic Games.
And Fairclough is hoping the friendly can help his side maintain their recent good form after drawing 2-2 with Czech Republic Under-21s in November, a game in which both Norwood and Turley featured.
“It will be perfect in assisting me with preparation for our all-important International Challenge Trophy clash against Slovakia in May,” said Fairclough.
“We do not know what to expect in terms of style and method but that is not new for the England C team.
“Football has a universal language and the fixture will be played with enthusiasm and respect.”
Central defender Turley has previously captained Fairclough’s team and is almost certain to start at the King Abdullah National Stadium.
Winger or striker Norwood netted a hat-trick on his England C debut against Bermuda last summer, and his return of 12 goals this season puts him at the top of the club's scoring charts.
The squad also includes Hereford United’s former Cheltenham Town goalkeeper Daniel Lloyd-Weston, who has starred in the Bulls’ two meetings with Forest Green this season.
