The high street in Chalford has flooded with some people forced to abandon their homes.

Homes have flooded there after a night of heavy rain.

Sarah Pullen, managing director of Gloucestershire Media, lives in the area and she watched the drama unfold.

She said: "I have never seen it so bad, the water is so high.

"People are out of their houses and are helping each other."

Elsewhere Lobley's Drive in Abbeymead is closed, the Ebley bypass is closed, while Fetter Hill in the Forest of Dean is impassable.

I'm sure it isn't the only drama that Sarah has seen unfold in the sleep little hollow. I know she would have been too busy lending a helping hand to those poor people in distress to worry about how to spell the name of her village. Well done Sarah you are an inspiration to us all, Chalford needs you !!
