A firework has been thrown under a moving car in Longney by a motorist travelling in the opposite direction.
Officers are appealing for information about the incident, which happened on the Longney Loop at about 8.40pm on Saturday December 21.
A woman was driving in her car with her mother when a person in a passing small black hatchback vehicle threw the rocket, which then exploded under the victim's car.
The extent of the damage is not yet known but thankfully the victim and her mother weren't injured.
Police are investigating whether the incident is linked to similar offences in November and officers are urging anyone who may have information that could stop this dangerous activity to call straight away on 101, quoting incident 504 of December 21.
