Firefighters rescue boy with head stuck in bed railings

Firefighters rescued a nine-year-old boy who got his head stuck in bed railings last night.

The five man crew went to Welch Road in Cheltenham at 9.45pm on Sunday following a call from his mum.

A spokesman for Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service said the boy sustained no injuries during the ordeal.

She said: “Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service received a call from a concerned mother whose son had got his head stuck in his bed railings in the area of Cheltenham.

“One fire engine attended the incident from Cheltenham West fire station.

“Firefighters managed to release the nine-year-old boy who sustained no injuries.

“GFRS were detained on scene for 15 minutes.

“One appliance with a crew of five on board attended the incident on Welch Road in Cheltenham.”
