A Facebook campaign has been launched to keep notorious Gloucester criminal Barry Chambers out of the city when he is next released from prison.

A page has been set up called "Let's keep Barry Chambers out of Gloucester" and has so far received 65 'likes' on the social network.

On the Facebook page information section the creator says: "This is a dirty criminal who ruins peoples life's he's had over 100 offences so let's get him out."

Chambers, 35, of Brook Street, Gloucester was jailed last week after stealing a pensioner's car and taking police on a chase around the city.

The court heard Chambers, who was famously fed Kentucky Fried Chicken and fizzy pop by police when he staged a rooftop siege in the city in June 2006, had previously committed 103 offences, with 22 of them being driving related.

He was jailed for 14 months.

What do you think of the campaign? Should Chambers be forced to live elsewhere when he is released from prison?

Sorry, Justica, my fault. The sarcasm in my post wasn't made clear enough... Perhaps I should have put a smiley at the end, but then the moderators would probably have deleted it.

If I, like many of my fellow countrymen/women happened to like my culture (and values) RoadWombat, why should adopt uncivilised practices such FGM, child forced marriage and Halal meat just to show how MULTICULTURAL we are ? We shouldn't feel obliged to return to the 7th century.

How could you, Justica? He enriches our society through his vibrant multiculturalism.

Out of the country altogether would be even better.
