Business leaders went for a spin in the latest electric supercar when it arrived in Gloucestershire for the first time yesterday.
Cheltenham's Commercial Group in partnership with the circle2success business organisation brought the Tesla S model priced at around £85,000 to the HQ of construction company Britannia in Staverton.
It is believe there are only six of the cars in the UK with its sleek design and a 17inch touchscreen display on the dashboard that looks like a giant iPad and controls everything from the air-conditioning to the air suspension.
Tesla's Model S also sets the bar for electric driving range, being offered with three battery options, each delivering unprecedented range - up to 300 miles is being quoted.
Commercial Group managing director Arthur Hindmarch was mightily impressed and said his company might even buy one.
"It is tomorrow's car and absolutely fantastic. We would certainly look at it," he said.
Britannia's MD Paul Halfpenny was equally enthusiastic and said he admired the concept.
