A Stonehouse road will be closed for drainage works at the start of next month.
Oldends Lane in Stonehouse will be closed to through traffic from the railway level crossing to its junction with Stonedale Road from 3rd December until 14th December. Access will be maintained for residents and local businesses within the closure area.
Gloucestershire Highways will be making repairs to the existing drainage system, as well as doing some routine cleaning out and general maintenance of the drains. These works can only be completed safely with a full closure of the road.
The drainage works are being carried out ahead of resurfacing works planned for early 2013. It is important to do the drainage works before the resurfacing to avoid breaking up the new road surface.
Cllr Will Windsor-Clive, Cabinet member for communities, said: "While this work will cause some disruption, we always do our best to minimise the impact on residents and motorists.
"I hope people will really appreciate the improvement works on the road once both the drainage works and resurfacing are complete."
A diversion along B4008 and Bristol Road will be marked and in use for the duration of the works.
