Due to a heroic effort from staff, the Dog at Over opened on Christmas Day despite being flooded less than 48 hours before.
Heavy rain and high winds have been forecast with flood alerts in place all over the county.
And the A40 eatery has now brought in sand bags in the event of further floods.
The restaurant managed to avert utter disaster, after flood water poured into the venue on Monday, by drying the carpets out just in time to welcome 350 guests on Christmas Day.
Sarah Marshall, manager of the Dog, said: “It was really bad but we managed to pull together and dry everything out.
“Although it would have been bad to have missed out on the trade, my biggest worry was that people’s Christmases would have been ruined. I’m delighted that didn’t happen and we were able to accommodate everyone.
“We have brought in some sandbags though to try and stop it happening again.”
