DISNEY characters were out in force in Gloucester Quays yesterday to promote a new film.
The launch of Disney’s Maleficent, the untold story of Disney’s iconic villain from Sleeping Beauty, was attended by Maleficent herself, Aladdin’s Jafar, 101 Dalmatians’ Cruella de Vil, the Ugly Sisters and Snow White’s Wicked Queen.
Visitors also explored Maleficent’s Castle, made entirely out of balloons, which took centre stage in Gloucester Quays Outlet’s entrance area, while Jafar performed magical illusions for passers-by.
The event, organised by Gloucester Quays, also had face painters also turned little ones into Maleficent or the dragon she becomes in the film, and balloon modellers were on hand to create magical staff or dragon wings.
Elaine Johnson, who played Maleficent, said: “Disney films are timeless and are still popular after 30 years, so we’re really pleased some many people have turned up and the children are having a great time.”
