Visitors to Gloucester City taking advantage of the post Christmas sales will be able to benefit from an extra hour of parking free of charge.

Gloucester City council has teamed up with the Citizen newspaper who will print a voucher in the Christmas Eve edition of the paper which entitles the reader to an extra hour of parking at no extra cost.

Councillor Paul James, Leader Gloucester City Council said: "I really hope people take advantage of this offer to stay longer and enjoy more in the city centre after Christmas.

"The post Christmas sales are a favourite with many and we hope the voucher will help visitors to explore a little more of what the city has to offer.

"Once you have purchased a ticket for any of the city council car parks you will be able to take your time exploring what the city has to offer with the extra hour."

When displaying the voucher clearly alongside their pay and display ticket from December 26 to December 28 motorists are entitled to an extra hour free. This voucher can be used as many times as people want within that time.
