The City Council is currently asking residents to have their say on a Draft Policy for Scrap Metal.
Metal theft over recent years has had a significant impact on communities, businesses and local authorities alike.
The Scrap Metal Dealers At 2013 has been created to help prevent some of the previous issues surrounding the sale, collections, storage and disposal of scrap metal.
The Policy outlines the requirements of the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 and gives guidance to new applicants, existing licence holders, consultees and members of the public as to how the City Council will administer and enforce the requirements of the Act.
To comment on the Draft Policy visit www.gloucester.gov.uk/consultations and complete the consultation feedback form.
The consultation is open until 9th June 2014.
Feedback will be taken into consideration and presented to the Licensing and Enforcement Committee for final approval on 15th July 2014.
