NEW scrum-half James Knight is set to go straight into the starting line-up when Coney Hill host Bridgwater and Albion in South West One West on Saturday.
Knight will take over from 35-year-old player/coach Leon Liggett, who played the full 80 minutes in the 37-12 defeat at Wadebridge Camels – his first game since October 5.
Knight has been playing for Old Centralians and will join his brothers Paddy and Martin at Coney Hill.
Paddy and Martin Knight return to the squad for the game against fifth-from-bottom Bridgwater along with Alan Weller and Jamie Hemmings.
Coney Hill have won only one of their 16 league games this season but Liggett is refusing to believe that relegation is inevitable. “We won’t give up until it’s mathematically impossible,” he said.
“There are enough games left and we can win some of them, starting with Bridgwater. We played really well in our last home game against Thornbury. We lost 34-29 but the boys showed a great attitude.”
Coney Hill’s home against Sidmouth, abandoned before Christmas because of an injury, has been rearranged for February 22.
