An accident blackspot near Cheltenham was closed to traffic this morning following a collision.

The A417 near Nettleton Bottom was closed for an hour shortly after 9am after a crash between two lorries and a Peugeot 206.

Nobody was seriously injured in the incident although the route had to be closed in busy rush hour traffic as Highways workers attempted to clear away debris.

The route was reopened again at around 10am.

The stretch of road is a notorious traffic bottleneck and known as the "missing link" - the only single carriageway on the route which connects the M4 near Swindon to the M5 near Cheltenham.

Crikey, closed for just an hour? If this had been on the M5, it would have been closed for the whole day!

under an hour from it being reported to cleared and re-opened, not bad!

    It's Gloucester, not "near Cheltenham".
