Conservative councillor Nigel Hanman, who represents the Grange ward on Gloucester City Council, has said he hopes to be re-elected as a Tory on May 22 despite previously announcing he would become an independent after he was deselected in favour of a younger Sinead Kennedy.

He said: “It was not really a difficult decision when they asked me if I would like to come back.”

Curiouser and curiouser. I spoke to Nigel at the Agents' briefing meeting and he was very bitter about being replaced "by a younger model". Now, humiliatingly, the Tories have had to go crawling back to someone they didn't consider good enough for them or Grange just a few months ago.

Ah yes, I've now seen that article. I've also looked at Twitter, and Sinead suddenly stopped tweeting on her Sinead4Grange account three months ago.

If you read Mike W's earlier article, "Sinead has gone off the political radar".

Trouble with Nigel is you only hear about him when when he wants to re-elected. then you never from him again for another fours years. I remeber the flooding in Bodiam Ave, no sign of him.

This is half of an article. Has Nigel been offered Grange ward, has Sinead gone elsewhere, or what?
