Over the Christmas period most households triple their waste or more. Some councils do not take corrugated cardboard making this a huge problem over the Christmas period.

What a perfect time to show children the importance of recycling!

We are running a Christmas Recycling Campaign with local schools.Children are to bring into school card, cans & plastics. The schools are being provided with large bags to put the materials into, children will be rewarded with stickers and trees for their schools.

If the campaign is a success we will be looking to continue and will be giving schools larger incentives like sports equipment.

If your school isn't taking part but your would like us to collect your recycling please call us to arrange a collection 01452 740893.

We may have not contacted your school yet so please do mention this to them and ask them to get in touch.

Dave_t10 - because it is bulky, difficult to transport with other recyclables, most houses may not have recyclable quality, and cost of collection and transport far exceeding any savings in landfill costs or returns from sale - will make excellent fuel in the waste to energy plant if shredded. Not all recycling benefits the environment but many take it as a religious ritual at any cost.

Why do the local council not collect cardboard from the doorstep? If they were serious about tackling recycling then surely they would address this.
