Have yourself a merry little Christmas by getting involved with a spot of festive singing.

With so much going on over December, here’s a list of carol singing events in Gloucester, Stroud and the Forest of Dean to take your pick from:

- Carols by Steam Train

Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway will be having an open air ‘Christmas Carols by Steam’ event on Saturday December 14. In aid of Winston’s Wish, it will take place at Winchcombe Station before a train departs for Toddington at 7pm, with the silver band leading the songs.

- Christmas Eve at Gloucester Cathedral

The annual carol service for all the family will be held at the Cathedral on 6pm on Christmas Eve, followed by Midnight Mass at 11.30pm.

- Sing for Sue Christmas Concert

Sue Ryder will be getting everyone in the mood by hosting a sing-song at Trinity Church, Cheltenham on December 14. Have some mulled wine and enjoy the performances at 7pm.

- Gloucester Christmas Market

Have a bite to eat and listen to the Gloucester Cathedral choir sing carols on the hour starting at 11am for half an hour. Indulge in chocolate cakes and Christmas gifts with a live nativity scene outside the cathedral on December 14.

- Boxing Day Carols

Christmas Day may have passed but the music continues at Gloucester Cathedral. Boxing Day will see a carol singing gathering to support Cotswold Care charity at 3pm.

- Messiah Concert

In the candlelight, Messiah will be sang at St Barnabas Church where the Charlton Kings Choral Society will be in Gloucester to perform alongside the Sinfonia Orchestra on Decmber 14 at 7.30pm.

- One Church Service

Sunday December 15 is the day to head to GL1 where One Church will have their carol service The Great Christmas Story. Free parking is for all attending and the event at 6pm is also free to attend. Booking is essential here
