Children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent receives £3,010 from rugby dinner

A CHARITY helping children with cancer has landed a £3,010 donation from a rugby dinner.

Brewin Dolphin, one of the UK’s leading private client wealth managers, raised the funds for Gloucestershire children’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent.

They organised a dinner for 120 guests at Gordon League Rugby Club, in Hempsted, with BBC sports presenter Jill Douglas hosting the event.

An impressive line-up of British and Irish Lions were present including Irish legend Mike Gibson, England’s Phil Vickery and Mike Teague and Welsh winger Alex Cuthbert.

CLIC Sargent provide clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help children cope with cancer and get the most out of life.

Edward Mawle, head of Brewin Dolphin in Cheltenham, saidL “We are delighted to be supporting such a fantastic local charity and are enormously proud of the vital service CLIC Sargent provides in the community.”

Ceris Bradley, fundraising manager at CLIC Sargent, said: “Such an amazing amount of money raised. It was a fantastic event and enjoyed by everyone. This money raised will go such a long way in helping us support more children and young people with cancer.”
