Children will be showing off their creative skills at Messy Church in Tuffley this weekend.

St George's Church in Grange Road will welcome youngsters to decorate the tree.

They will also get the chance to hear festive stories. It will start at 10.00am on Saturday.

Chairman Darrell Stevens said: "We will be getting the children to decorate our Christmas tree and telling them the Christmas story and generally celebrating the Christmas story and journey.

"Mince pies and refreshments will be on the menu in our Messy Christmas café.

"We were visited 700 children from local primary and infant schools in recent weeks where the true spirit of Christmas was told to the children and their teachers in stories and by interactive sessions.

"Christmas Eve sees our services coming to a climax with a Crib Service, which is ideal for families with small children starting at 4.00pm.

"At 11.30pm the Midnight service will start, where we celebrate the first communion of Christmas Day.

On Christmas Day we have one service at 10.30am."
