GLOUCESTER City have taken winger Ed Williams on a month's loan from landlords Cheltenham Town.

First-year professional Williams, 18, has spent time at both Bishop's Cleeve and Evesham United in the Southern League this season.

He will go straight into the squad for tonight's trip to Histon, where he could line up alongside Robins teammate Joe Hanks.

City boss Tim Harris said that the addition of Williams will help cover a number of options for the trip to Cambridgeshire.

"It’s a timely signing with Adam Mann struggling with back spasm after Saturday’s victory over Stalybridge Celtic,” Harris said.

“The squad will be travelling without Ruairidh Winters, Joe Parker and Adam Mann for various reasons.

"Full-back Mike Green and Tom Webb are traveling with the squad though both are not expected to start due to recent injuries.”

City travel to Cambridgeshire looking for a fourth win in six games since Harris' return to the Tigers in February.
