Cheltenham Town groundsman Terry Roberts says the Abbey Business Stadium pitch is currently playable.
He is therefore far more optimistic about the chances of tomorrow night's match against Rochdale going ahead.
The League Two fixture's prospects looked bleak earlier in the week, but the thick snow has started to melt away naturally and Roberts spent this afternoon clearing all the lines.
Much will now depend on the opinion of a match official, who will inspect the playing surface tomorrow.
"The grass is poking through the snow now and it's only half an inch deep in a lot of places," Roberts said.
"The match can be played in my view and it's all systems go as far as I am concerned."
