Cheltenham Town's back-up goalkeeper Connor Roberts won his first Wales Under-21 cap today, going on as a 75th minute substitute against Iceland.

Wales, managed by Geraint Williams, emerged as 3-0 winners in the friendly, which was played at Llanelli's Stebonheath Park.

The goals came in the last 12 minutes from Bristol City's Wes Burns, Jonathan Williams of Crystal Palace and RobertOgleby, who is on the books of Wrexham.

Torquay United's Billy Bodin was in the Wales starting line-up, the only other League Two player involved.

It was an useful warm-up for Wales' opening UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifiers, which start at home to Moldova next month, in a group that also includes Finland, Lithuania and San Marino.

Roberts is yet to make his first appearance for Cheltenham, having arrived last summer after five years at Everton.
