Gloucester and Cheltenham HMV stores appears to be safe from closure.
The Kings Walk shop and the High Street branch are not on the list of 66 branches earmarked for the axe by administrators who were called in last month.
This morning administrators named the 66 stores in the UK which are set for closure. There are 220 around the country, and it's believed the remaining stores could be bought as a going concern.
Intense compeitition from internet downloads, supermarkets and online retailers in recent years have been blamed for HMV's demise.
