MORE than 1,000 exhibits will be judged at a horticulture show and fete in its 69th consecutive year.
Tibberton Flower Show will take place on Saturday, August 16
Exhibits in horticulture, cookery, art and crafts will be staged in the large marquee adjoining Taynton and Tibberton Village Hall from 2pm to 5pm.
Known as ‘the show with the most’, it has been run every year since 1945, when Tibberton Pig Club resurrected it 13 weeks after VE Day. Prior to that a village show was run from 1898 until 1914.
Craft demonstrations will include woodwork, lace, working in willow, quilting, pottery and tool-handle making.
On the show field visitors can enjoy the many sideshows and stalls together with a family fun dog show, races for all ages, Morris dancing, vintage farm machinery, a barbecue and a licensed bar.
For children there will be an inflatable jungle run, a bungee run, and an animal corner.
The Gloucester Excelsior Band will play throughout the afternoon.
Barn dancing will complete the day with music from Hetty Pegler’s Tump and authentic Italian pizzas in the evening.
