The ex-boyfriend of beautiful Gloucester hairdresser, Hollie Gazzard, has been remanded in custody.
Asher Thomas Maslin made no application for bail at a brief hearing at Bristol Crown Court this morning.
The 22-year-old of Benhall Gardens in Cheltenham is charged with Hollie’s murder after she was stabbed to death at Fringe Benefits and La Bella Beauty salon on Southgate Street in the city on Tuesday evening.
Maslin, who is yet to enter a plea to the charge, did not have to appear at the court hearing on this morning.
Prosecutor Rachel Garstang said he made no application for bail.
A preliminary hearing will take place on March 12 at the same court where a timetable for a plea and case management hearing and a trial will be set.
Ms Garstang said Maslin’s custody time limit would expire on August 22 this year.
Judge Neil Ford QC remanded Maslin, a former student of Churchdown School, in custody.
Hollie’s death has sent shock waves through the community.
Thousands of tributes have poured in for the popular 20-year-old from Churchdown, who was a former student of Chosen Hill School.
Hundreds have signed up to a charity memorial walk from Gloucester to Cheltenham in April in her name.
