POLICE investigating an assault in Gloucester Park are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

The assault happened between 5.30pm and 5.40pm last Wednesday (November 6) as the victim, a 30-year-old local man, was walking through the Park.

Two men on bicycles approached him and as they did assaulted the man, causing him to fall to the floor, before they cycled off towards Trier Way/Weston Road.

The assault appears to have been unprovoked and caused the victim to suffer injuries to his face.

Investigating officers are asking the community to call them on 101, quoting incident number 423 of November 6 if they witnessed the incident or two men cycling out of the park on Wednesday afternoon.

Information can also be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or by visiting their website: www.crimestoppers-uk.org and you may receive a reward if someone is arrested and charged.
