Ambulance crashes into car on Metz Way, causes delays

An ambulance has crashed into a car and has knocked over a traffic light, shutting down all traffic lights at the A38 Eastern Avenue's junction with Metz Way.

The accident happened just before 11am today, and is causing long delays up to the Walls junction in Barnwood.

Police say they are now dealing with the incident.

    I watched this happen this morning, not nice - ambulance (ambulance car actually) came belting down the road on sirens, didn't see the other car til the last second, swerved to avoid it but couldn't, hit the corner of the car then carried on up onto the traffic island and smacked into the traffic light. Both drivers appeared ok but vehicles will be a write-off, big mess for someone to clear up. Then saw the aftermath of another THREE crashes on the way home. Not sure what's in the air today but take extra care when driving.
