Residents and visitors to the city are being urged to take in the amazing sounds of the Alney Island wetland area with an evening birdsong event.
A City Council countryside ranger will be leading a walk around the beautiful wetland area to experience the natural wonder, situated in the centre of the city on Wednesday 30th April. The walk is generally flat and easy going, although uneven in places.
Councillor Sajid Patel, cabinet member for environment, Gloucester City Council said: "The evening walks enable everyone to take part no matter their age or fitness ability.
"As a heart city it is important we all do a little more exercise, organised walks are a great way to get out and enjoy the fresh air, socialise and take in the beautiful sights and sounds the city has to offer."
The accompanied walk is priced £3 for adults and FREE for children. Booking is advisable by calling the City Council's countryside rangers on 01452 303206.
The group will be meeting at 7:30pm at the small car park on the westbound side of Westgate Bridge.
