AGGRESSIVE "lads" who robbed a man and have been making residents' lives a misery are being hunted by police.

And a community leader has called on anyone who knows those responsible for the vicious attack and two other cases of anti-social behaviour to contact police immediately.

Officers are linking a robbery at The Circle in Uplands, Stroud with other incidents of intimidation nearby.

"We will not tolerate such behaviour," said Stroud District Council member for Uplands, Roger Sanders (L). We as a community will endeavour to find the perpetrators and we will support the police in any way we can to stop this.

"Anyone who knows those responsible must tell police about it."

The most serious incident happened at around 7.45pm on Friday, December 14 in The Circle in Stroud.

The victim was walking from the town centre when six or seven men approached him. He was kicked and punched and his house key, mobile phone and £30 cash were taken.

Police are also investigating two other incidents in the area which they think may be linked.

In one incident, between four and six offenders were seen jumping the fence of a house in The Circle. The group was also seen drinking alcohol and talking loudly in the street.

In the second incident near Folly Lane, a victim stated that seven or eight 'lads' swore at him and acted aggressively towards him.

Anyone with information that could help the investigation should call police on 101 quoting incident 421 of December 14.

You can also remain anonymous and contact the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org. In some cases Crimestoppers offer rewards of up to £1,000 where information leads to a conviction.

Don't you realise that these 'lads' are 'vulnerable' and that if caught will be 'helped'? It's the modern way of dealing with crime, and is clearly very effective...
