It’s the weather we’ve all been waiting for and as Gloucestershire is set to get warmer for the mini heat wave this weekend, what’s better than getting a barbeque going?

Whether you’re trying to impress guests with alternative recipes or are rounding up family and friends for the usual dishes, here are our pick of the best barbeque recipes.

1. Cheesy Corn on the Cob

Jamie Oliver recommends these easy to make cheesy corn on the cobs which adds a twist to the usual grilling.

All you need is smoked paprika or cayenne pepper, mild cheese such as Parmesan and mayonnaise.


2. Verdura Mista

Don’t let the name put you off – this dish is smoky grilled vegetables with a simple dressing. Whilst it doesn’t take much work to put together, the dressing brings out the vegetables’ natural flavours. A perfect salad option on a warm day.


3. Spicy Beef Burger

These will take less than half an hour but makes 4/6 delicious burgers. For those of you who like to experiment with cooking flavours, there’s plenty of room to mix it up in this recipe


4. Pimms Lollies

Turn up the atmosphere a notch or two with these Pimms lollies, a great alternative to ice cream or ice lollies. All you need is wooden sticks and lolly moulds and good amount of Pimms, strawberries, lemonade and fresh mint.

If you’re barbequing to impress and will be prepping the day before, this one is for you. Putting in the work the night before will get you a delicious marinated flavour for this pork dish.


6. Whisky Glaze Spare Ribs with BBQ Sauce

Get a rack of ribs which still has the meat left on and follow these five simple steps to make these which serve around 5 people.


7. Vegetable Skewers

What’s a BBQ without skewers? Why not try the vegetarian option or if you have friends round who are veggies, try these halloumi and roasted vegetable skewers which take no time to put together.


8. Glazed Grilled Shrimp

For food pickers, these shrimps have garlic and paprika flavours to make a great light bite.


9. Halloumi Kebabs with Thyme and Lemon Baste

Another vegetarian twist to a usual meat dish but trade halloumi for your favourite meats.
